freight house is led by chef/proprietor sara bradley, runner-up on season 16 of bravo’s competitive cooking show top chef. she opened the doors to freight house in 2015 under the ethos food is more than just eating. your food has a story. many stories.
freight house aims to be a unique kentucky dining experience, serving traditional southern flavors with a modern twist. through locally sourced meats and garden fare, our mission is to bring you fresh ingredients from our local partners and help to define the flavor of the “new south.”
our region is rich with agricultural history. our neighbors have been providing sustenance to this community for generations. many local farmers grew up learning how to cultivate the fruits of our soil from their parents and grandparents, and have continued that tradition with their children and grandchildren.
our goal isn’t merely to continue that tradition. our goal is to see how we can work to improve upon it for future generations through agricultural education, ecological preservation and culinary innovation.
by sourcing local and seasonal ingredients, freight house is able to bring the freshest dishes to the dinner table in the manner they were intended to be served – in season. more importantly, we are dedicated to supporting the farmers in our community. for it is their craft that provides us the ability to serve local. so when you dine local, you actually eat local.
we strive to create a dining experience dedicated to bringing awareness to the agricultural sustainability of our region, and encourage you to support your local farmers in your own kitchen.
